The pouch is the best addition to my scrap book and desk top publishing supplies!? I have used the pouch for many different applications including vellum and muslin printing.? All its claims of clearer printing and no more bleeding print are 100% accurate.? Thank you for solving my printing problems.

THE SOLUTION FOR PRINTING

Steps for Inkjet Printing on Vellum, Twill tape, Shrink Plastic or other difficult surfaces*:

If using a whole sheet of vellum or specialty paper, skip to step 3.

1. Print out title, journaling or message on inkjet paper in any font/size using word processing or specialty software. Focus on how you want the print to look; do not worry about location on the paper.

2. Cut vellum or printing substrate to desired size and adhere it with a temporary adhesive, such as spray adhesive or masking tape to the paper directly over the printing . Spray adhesive is preferred on vellum**, ribbon and and fabrics, whereas tape is recommended on delicate or stiffer materials.

3. Tap Tap Tap the Perfect Printing Pouch.  Gently wipe the surface with the pouch to evenly distribute the powders onto the transparency surface.   Shake or blow to remove any excess powder.

4. Make sure your printer is set for normal paper and print quality. The transparency setting puts out a minimum of ink and you want it bold and dark, right?  Send the paper through the printer so it prints directly onto the treated surface.
*ScraPerfect is not responsible for damage caused to your printer resulting from printing onto materials not recommended for your printer.

**If you used a spray adhesive on a vellum piece, it may still be tacky to go directly onto your project without additional adhesive.
Steps for Inkjet Printing on Transparencies**:

If using a whole sheet of transparency, skip to step 3.

1. Print out title, journaling or message on inkjet paper in any font/size using word processing or specialty software. Focus on how you want the print to look; do not worry about location on the paper.

2. Cut transparency to desired size and adhere it  to the paper directly over the printing with a temporary adhesive, such as masking tape.

3. Tap Tap Tap the Perfect Printing Pouch.  Be sure to evenly distribute the powders onto the transparency surface.   Shake or blow to remove any excess powder.

4. Make sure your printer is set for normal paper and print quality. The transparency setting puts out a minimum of ink and you want it bold and dark, right?

Send the paper back through the printer so it prints directly onto the transparency.

5. Let dry briefly.  At this point, although the printing looks good, it may rub off.  To set the ink permanently, spritz with a spray fixative, such as Helmar 'Crystal Kote' or Krylon 'Preserve It!'.

NOTE: If you would like to print on a colored transparency, such as a film negative, and the powder is too visible after printing, let it dry thoroughly.  Brush off powders with a very soft paintbrush before spraying with the fixative.

6. Adhere it to your project with a spray adhesive (Helmar/Creative Imaginations Scrapper's Spray/Krylon/3m/Elmers etc.), or use a mechanical method such as eyelets, staples, or stitching.
** Most transparencies made just for ink jet printers are not acid free as the matte side of the inkjet transparency was created in an acid bath.  If archivally-safe is important to you, make sure the ink-jet transparency says"ACID-FREE" or use ones made for copiers.
Use this procedure to print on other surfaces, too!

While spray adhesive works especially well for twill tape and muslin fabric,
masking tape works best to surround all the edges of thicker cardstocks, shrink plastic and polymer clay.

Polymer Clay Printing Procedure
ScraPerfect is not responsible for problems due to printing on surfaces
not recommended by your printer manufacturer. Use these instructions if  you choose to proceed.

Step 1. Skulpey Bake & Bend had superior results, although Fimo Soft worked.

Step 2. Roll clay as thin as possible with a brayer or rolling pin to cardstock thickness--which is easy as this clay is very soft.

Step 3. Bake in a toaster oven for about 1 minute, or until the clay is bendable. If clay starts to crack upon bending, bake it a wee bit longer.  The Fimo Soft was baked approximately 15 seconds.

Step 4.  Print message onto inkjet paper.  Affix clay directly on top of words to the inkjet paper. Use masking tape all around the clays edges.

Step 5.  Tap tap THE THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH onto the clay and print with normal setting.

Step 6.  Apply a spray fixative, such as Krylon Preserve It! to prevent ink from smudging.
Vellum Hints & Tips
Vellum Adhesive: Spray adhesives are quick and easy, do not show through the vellum, and have very little overspray or smell.  BONUS: If you use a spray to temporarily affix the vellum to the printer paper before applying the pouch, you can usually remove the vellum after printing and place it directly onto your project without any additional adhesive. Spray the vellum over a trash can or newspaper. (Recommended sprays include Creative Imaginations Scrappers Spray, Elmers  or Krylon Spray Adhesives, 3Ms Spray Mount.) There are many products sold for vellum but weve found most of them show through. Of course you can use decorative mechanical means to attach vellum such as sewing, using eyelets or brads, or hiding the adhesive behind buttons, stickers or other embellishments.

Adding Color to Vellum
Some color printer inks print very well on vellum while others dont.  Nonetheless, there are many other prettier ways of adding color.   If the color you add will smear the printer ink and since different effects are achieved by adding color to the back rather than the front of the vellum, experiment with both sides!
Here are a few colorizing ideas:
-chalk, rub-ons, powders
-markers
-gel pens
- watercolor crayons, pencils or paints (but use liquid sparingly to avoid curling)
- colored pencils or crayons
- paint

Dry Embossing
A very pretty effect can be created by dry embossing vellum!
Try placing the vellum on top of a soft surface like craft foam or a mouse pad.  Then use a stylus to draw, either freehand or following a pattern or template.  This is great for adding leaf veins, hearts, stars, swirls and other details to your vellum.

More cool things to do with vellum:
Try printing on both sides of the vellum.
Make translucent envelopes to be able to see the contents.
Overlap different pieces or colors of vellum.
Mask photos.  Hide unwanted parts with vellum and rip a window  for your subject.
Tear vellum to get soft edges. Chalk the edges for an even prettier effect.
Print on vellum and use a photo as a subtle background behind the words.
More Hints & Tips:
Powder Residue on your finished project:
If the powder is very noticeable, try one of the following methods.
1. Dab a wet cloth or baby wipe to completely remove the powder.  This is possible on some surfaces with some inks, such as waterproof markers on pearly vellum, some printer inks on polymer clay or transparencies.  Experiment first.
2. Gently remove powder with your finger, soft cloth, or paint brush. Often, simply feathering along the edge of the powdered area is enough.

Heat Embossing
It is a very elegant touch that takes advantage of the problem that printer ink dries so slowly on untreated vellum. Do not use the pouch, and  apply embossing powder to the wet ink. Be very careful applying heat since the vellum curls and burns fairly easily. (Some people emboss every time they print because they do not have a THE THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH. You have the choice.)

Setting the ink
Occasionally, weve had beautiful print quality using The THE THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH on materials which were barely printable without the pouch but still didnt dry quickly enough.  Some of the beautiful papers from FiberMark which have an acrylic coating or the polymer clay are good examples. After printing, a quick spritz of a fixative such as Krylon Preserve It! was the solution. We achieved excellent printing which wouldnt rub off within a reasonable drying time.

Rubber Stamping
The results of stamping onto vellum varies with the brand of ink and vellum. THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH may improve the quality.  Experiment.  The following ideas have been suggested to us by experienced stampers.

1) Print onto a stamped background:
Stamp a background onto untreated vellum to make your own patterned vellum to complement a holiday, season or event. Let dry.
Apply THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH.  Send back through through the printer to write on top of stamped background.  THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH
prevents the stamp ink from resisting the printer ink.

Using The Perfect Printing Pouch as an anti-static bag:
We are occasionally asked if the two are the same product. The answer is NO. The contents are very different!  However, many stampers have reported that The THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH works as well or better than their anti-static bag which is applied before stamping to prevent stray embossing grains from sticking to paper,  but that their anti-static bag does not work like THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH to make printing perfect.   There is nothing like The Original PERFECT PRINTING POUCH by ScraPerfect!

Make cool, personalized embellishments:  Although ScraPerfect is not responsible for problems due to printing on surfaces not recommended by your printer manufacture, excellent printing can be achieved on fabric, ribbon, shrink plastic, polymer/ paper clay, and other extraordinary materials.   Let us know what you discover!
